I Graduated !!!

Saturday
4 April 2009

The Chaplain Basic Officer Leadership Course is finally over. I finished and graduated yesterday. It is a weird feeling to be done, as I don't have to get up for PT every morning or sit through 6 hours of power point presentations anymore! But it was sad to say goodbye to a few of my classmates, especially my battle buddy Doug. We're heading in different directions for the time being, but we may run into each other again soon. He is being deployed to the same place I am later in the year, so please keep his family in your prayer as well.

I am attaching pictures from the final graduation banquet as well as the ceremony. My wife and I got to get all dressed up for the banquet (as you can see). In the end, we had 102 Chaplains complete the class and graduate, which was held here at the Chaplain school. The guest speaker was the Chief of Chaplains, CH (MG) Doug Carver. The MG stands for Major General, which is a 2-Star designation. He is the top Chaplain in the entire Army.

My family came to attend the graduation and stay for a few days before we go back home. Some good friends who moved away to Virginia to be here as well, and so it was a reunion of sorts. We may go to the beach this weekend and have a little fun before it's all over. I figure we've earned it! Thanks for following along over these past few months. I may add more as time goes on, and I'll probably do it again when I'm deployed (or something similar). So keep in touch, and I'll talk to you again soon.
